As being one of the world’s leading manufactures of high quality LED safety lights, Orbiloc™ is proud of its role in providing advice and products that improves your safety when out and about in the twilight or dark. Professional athletes and weekend warriors, military and police, devoted dog owners and alike are using Orbiloc products to improve their safety and visibility.

The Orbiloc brand and identity is a seal of quality and a promise of excellence. When you retail an Orbiloc product, you also represent Orbiloc. By following these guidelines, you reap the benefits of the Orbiloc brand and identity and contribute to its strength.

These guidelines are for Orbiloc distributors, authorized resellers, customers, and other parties wishing to use Orbiloc trademarks or images in promotional, advertising, instructional, or reference materials, or on their web sites. Use of the Orbiloc Logo for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of Orbiloc may constitute trademark infringement and unfair competition in violation international laws. Use of Orbiloc trademarks may be prohibited, unless expressly authorized.

Orbiloc’s trademarks and trade dress are valuable assets and are internationally protected, and may not be used without our written permission. In following these guidelines, you help us protect our valuable trademark rights and strengthen our corporate and brand identities. By using an Orbiloc trademark, in whole or in part, you are acknowledging that Orbiloc is the sole owner of the trademark and promising that you will not interfere with Orbiloc rights in the trademark, including challenging Orbiloc use, registration of, or application to register such trademark, alone or in combination with other words, anywhere in the world, and that you will not harm, misuse, or bring into disrepute any Orbiloc trademark. The goodwill derived from using any part of an Orbiloc trademark exclusively inures to the benefit of and belongs to Orbiloc.

The below guidelines are designed to help you use our brand and assets, including our logo, pictures, content and trademarks without having to negotiate legal agreements for each use. Except for the limited right to use as expressly permitted under these Guidelines, no other rights of any kind are granted hereunder, by implication or otherwise. Orbiloc trademarks include, but are not limited to, the Orbiloc name, the phrase Orbiloc Safety Light, Orbiloc – The Safety Light, the Orbiloc logo, and other graphics, phrases, images or other designation that identify the source or origin of the Orbiloc product and services.

Authorized Use of Orbiloc Trademarks

You may make fair use of our Orbiloc wordmarks (such as Orbiloc and Orbiloc Safety Light) to:

make factual statements about Orbiloc in general, about our products and services, or 
truthfully communicate your interest in the Orbiloc products

1. Advertising, Promotional, and Sales Materials: Only Orbiloc and its distributors and authorized resellers may use the Orbiloc Logo in advertising, promotional, and sales materials. Such authorized parties may use the Orbiloc Logo or any other Orbiloc word mark only as specified in the Orbiloc Trademark Usage Guidelines and provided they comply with the following requirements.

a. Use the Orbiloc logo when promoting any Orbiloc product

b. Do not alter or modify the marks or use them in a confusing way that suggests that Orbiloc sponsors or endorses you or your products or services, or confuses the Orbiloc brand with another brand.

c. Do not display the Orbiloc logo or trademarks larger than your own marks.

d. Do not use the Orbiloc name or marks to refer to any product other than Orbiloc.

e. Use our official, unmodified Orbiloc logo to represent our brand and products.

f. Use the appropriate Orbiloc word mark and Orbiloc product marks with the guidelines set forth in the Orbiloc Trademark List. 

Unauthorized Use of Orbiloc Trademarks

1. Company, Product, or Service Name: You may not use or register, in whole or in part, Orbiloc, Orbiloc Safety Light, Orbiloc Dog Dual, Orbiloc Outdoor Dual, Orbiloc Run Dual or any other Orbiloc trademark or wordmark, including Orbiloc-owned graphic symbols, logos, icons, or an alteration thereof, as or as part of a company name, trade name, product name, or service name except as specifically noted in these guidelines.

2. Orbiloc Logo and Orbiloc-owned Graphic Symbols: You may not use the Orbiloc Logo or any other Orbiloc-owned graphic symbol, logo, or icon on or in connection with web sites, products, packaging, manuals, promotional/ advertising materials, or for any other purpose except pursuant to an express written agreement from Orbiloc, such as a reseller or distributor agreement.

3. Variations, Takeoffs or Abbreviations: You may not use any variation of the Orbiloc logo for any purpose. Third parties cannot use a variation, phonetic equivalent, foreign language equivalent, takeoff, or abbreviation of an Orbiloc trademark for any purpose.

For example: Not acceptable: Orbilox Orbilight

4. Disparaging Manner: You may not use an Orbiloc trademark or any other Orbiloc-owned graphic symbol, logo, or icon in a disparaging manner.

5. Endorsement or Sponsorship: You may not use Orbiloc or any other Orbiloc trademark, including Orbiloc-owned graphic symbols/logos, or icons, in a manner that would imply Orbiloc affiliation with or endorsement, sponsorship, or support of a third party product or service except pursuant to an express written agreement.

6. Merchandise Items: You may not manufacture, sell or give-away merchandise items, such as T-shirts and mugs, bearing Orbiloc or any other Orbiloc trademark, including symbols, logos, or icons, except pursuant to an express written agreement from Orbiloc.

7. Orbiloc Trade Dress: You may not imitate the distinctive Orbiloc packaging, web site design, logos, or typefaces.

8. Slogans and Tag Lines: You may not use or imitate an Orbiloc slogan or tagline.

For example: “The Safety Light” “Commitment to Safety”

9. Domain Names: You may not use an identical or virtually identical Orbiloc trademark as a second level domain name.

Proper Use of Orbiloc Trademarks

1. Trademarks are adjectives used to modify nouns; the noun is the generic name of a product or service.

2. As adjectives, trademarks may not be used in the plural or possessive form.

Correct: I bought two Orbiloc lights.
Not Correct: I bought two Orbilocs.

3. An appropriate generic term must appear after the trademark the first time it appears in a printed piece, and as often as is reasonable after that. For a list of suggested generic terms see the Orbiloc Trademark List.

4. Always spell and capitalize Orbiloc trademarks exactly as they are shown in the Orbiloc Trademark List. Do not shorten or abbreviate Orbiloc product names. Do not make up names that contain Orbiloc trademarks.

Proper Trademark Notice and Attribution

1. On product documentation, or other product communications use the appropriate trademark symbol (™, ®) the first time the Orbiloc trademark appears in the text of the advertisement, brochure, or other material.

2. Refer to the Orbiloc Trademark List for the correct trademark symbol, spelling of the trademark, and generic term to use with the trademark.

3. Include an attribution of Orbiloc ownership of its trademarks within the credit notice section of your product, product documentation, or other product communication.

Copyrights and Permissions

A copyright can be an original work of authorship including literature, brochures, photographs, videos, etc.
