Alice Kolding Sønniksen

Alice has three wonderful dogs – Ashlyn and Shuma the Border Collies, and Blackie the Labrador. Alice is a certified agility instructor, and teaches dog owners both in private and in agility clubs, when she and the dogs are not out competing in agility and rally competitions themselves. Shuma is an approved visitation dog through the Danish non-profit organization Trygfonden, and she is also a reading dog at the local library. As a reading dog, Shuma helps children with difficulties reading by exuding a calm and comforting energy, which help the children to relax and just read without anyone correcting or interrupting them. We hope to benefit from Alice’s many years of experience as a trainer, and to learn more about what it means to be a working dog like Shuma.
